How we keep the network up during outages
Backup batteries at nodes, generators at key sites, and how we prioritise power across the network.

Power cuts have become part of life, so we built the network to keep the internet running even when your home has no electricity.
Three layers of protection
- Batteries at every access node keep equipment running for several hours without mains power.
- Generators at key sites start automatically during long outages.
- A power priority scheme: the backbone and the nodes serving the most subscribers get backup first.
GPON is a passive technology: there is no active equipment between the node and your house that needs power. All that has to run is the node and your ONU terminal.
What to do at home
- connect the ONU terminal and router to a power bank or a 12 V UPS;
- save the technical support number in your phone;
- check that your router does not go to sleep when it switches to backup power.
Our goal is for you to learn about a power cut from the news, not from losing the internet.
Ask our assistant about backup power or leave a request — we will suggest a setup for your equipment.
